Athens

I'm off to Athens to watch a football match this week. I've never been to Athens before, and I'm not gonna be there for long. Anyone got any tips? What should I see in the twelve sight-seeing hours I have before the game?

1. The Parthenon

Here are some recent pics I took when I went for a few days in February: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fluffballs/sets/72157594551716761/

The Parthenon is a must!

Dear Friend,

You should see the one with the columns. And the pyramids.

Have fun Craig in Athens and don't forget to see the smiling girl statues in the Acropolis Museum...

And as you go down from Acropolis, have a cold beer in Plaka or Monastiraki.

Go reds!

Things to see in Athens tonight? Pissed-up scallies nicking bits of pedimental statuary, most likely. After all, it's up on blocks already.
