Now with added name
For as long as I've been working on them, the characters I drew for the Observer Music Magazine had no proper unifying title. And in my giddy post-Rock en Seine period, I'm feeling more than a little proud of them, and feel that they shouldn't be hidden away in the portfolio section of the site.
So, I searched my brain long and hard - for at least five minutes, anyway - and decided their big, flat, round heads would benefit from being titled Lollipops. Stupid, I know; but it's the best I could come up with.
Anyway, they now have a section proper on the site, which you can visit, via the magical powers of HTML, by simply clicking here.

Hi Craig. I think your link is wrong! I couldn't get to the page with the one you provided until i finagled with the URL a bit...
http://www.flipflopflyin.com/g/lollipops/
as opposed to
http://www.flipflopflyin.com/g/lollipops/index.html
it's minus the "g"

fantastic work, craig! this is so much fun... but i was wondering...
did slash (in his new band) quit smoking?
Oops. Sorry about that.
Re. Slash. In the GNR version, I originally drew him smoking, but in the Observer ad itself the cig was removed. I put it back in on the Lollipop page.
The VR version of Slash never had a cig.
Thanks.
i remember they once removed a cigarette from the cover of an american magazine with courtney love posing while she was pregnant, which made her mouth look kinda funny (and allegedly years later led to the line "my god pouts on the cover of the magazine" in nine inch nails' "starfuckers inc.").
to me slash was actually born with this hat on and a cigarette in his mouth ;)
I agree, really: Slash does look more Slash-y with a cig. At the time, I found it slightly amusing that the cigarette was removed, yet Axl was still allowed to wear a Charles Manson t-shirt.
cool, cool, cool stuff!
why aren't those in a book?
I'd buy it...
Cheers
Alex
Thank you. I wish they were in a book, too.
